2011 Car Show - Pacific Coast Dream Machines
By Dwayne Goerges
More than just a car show! This one really has it all; if it has an engine in it you’re going to find it here! Truly one of the most complete exhibitions of machines you’re going to find. The Pacific Coast Dream Machines Car show is an event you won’t want to miss. Held May first this year in Half Moon Bay California, this show features over 2,000 antique, vintage, classic, custom, and exotic cars, but that’s just the start. Then you get into the aviation area where you find vintage war birds, classic aircraft and even homebuilt aircraft and helicopters. Raised on the farm? Perhaps the display of antique tractors will bring back some memories. And did you know there was a model-T fire engine? They've got one here. And something else I seldom see at car shows, even vintage busses! It’s not all about the classics though, rods and tricked out cars and motorcycles have their day in the sun as well as kinetic art and rolling sculpture. Along with the displays you can opt for a Bi-plane or Helicopter ride. Passed shows have included freestyle motocross demos a m-551 Sheridan Tank from Operation Desert Storm and the "Heavenly Body" -- a historic B-25 Bomber from World War II. And of course there’s my favorite. Unicycle Drag Races. We’re not talking a bicycle wheel with pedals on it here. Try to picture a car engine sitting on top of one wheel with a seat and handle bars! Still having a hard time with the mental picture? Looks like you’re going to have to come out and see for yourself. Personally, I love car shows. What makes this show so great is the wide variety of things to see, this is truly an event! Check it out if you happen to be in Northern California this May.

Model-T fire engine sounds like a must-see, but I tend to be more interested in the other kind of models you see at car shows.
