Quincy California – Bucks Lake By Dwayne Goerges of www.pioneerrvpark.com Looking for some ideas for your next family RV trip? Quincy California is a great place to consider! Centrally located in the middle of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Quincy makes for a cool getaway from the summer heat. One of the top attractions in Quincy is the Bucks Lake area in Central Plumas County. Bucks Lake is about 17 miles from Quincy and has something to do year round. During the summer it’s known primarily for fishing, camping and water sports. The area surrounding Bucks Lake is well known for mountain biking and hiking and provides access to the famous “Pacific Coast Trail”. Winter activities include snowmobiling and cross-country skiing on 100 miles of groomed trails that surround Bucks Lake. Fall is an especially good time for photography as the Red Dogwood and Golden Aspen start to change colors making the mountains alive with colors and contrast. During the summer months the Bucks Lake marina is open offering Pontoon and fishing boat rentals as well as Kayaks and Canoes. And for the more adventurous you can also rent 700cc Polaris Wave Runners. The marina also has a store offering all the usual boating supplies (ice, food, bait, tackle) and also some maintenance items for your boat if needed. You can also rent slips by the day or longer term so you don’t need to pull your boat out every day while at the lake. Whether it’s for a stopover on your way through Northern California on your way to Tahoe or Reno or you’re looking for a camping destination. Bucks Lake is well worth checking out.
