Car shows. There are those that love them and those that, well…, don’t. There are people that would see every car show in the nation if it were possible and those that say ‘If you have seen one, you have seen them all.’ But, that is kind of like saying, “If you have seen one Star Wars you have seen them all.” While all Star Wars share a common theme, Lightsabers, the Force, Darth Vader, before and after he had his nifty black suit, no one that even likes Star Wars a little bit, would say ‘if you have seen one you have seen them all’. In fact if you were to make the statement ‘If you have seen one Star Wars you have seen them all to a hard core Star Wars fan, you are libel to get beat to death with plastic lightsabers. VVWWooomm VVWWooomm. Remember where there is one fully costumed Star Wars Fan, there are sure to be more.
Now, our point is not to make fun of hard core Star Wars fans, it is simply to make the point that seeing one Star Wars movie doesn’t mean you have seen them all. I know plenty of people that absolutely hated Star Wars Episods 4 – 6, that enjoyed 1 – 3. You simply can’t judge all Star Wars movies when you have only watched one or two. The same holds true with car shows, you can’t judge all car shows when you have only seen one or two. Why? Because each show has something different to offer. While the majority of the car shows do primarily feature classic and antique cars, it is definitely not the only thing you find. Other Options
Maybe, you aren’t real into classic cars; maybe you are more of a 4x4 person. If so, you might be interested in Issaquah, Washington’s Annual Jeep Show April 17th, 2011. Yep, that’s right, all jeeps and this year they will probably have around 150 participants with plenty of mud and large lifted vehicles. Or maybe, you aren’t too into 4x4s either, maybe things with wheels aren’t really your thing. If that is the case you might be a little more interested in a boat show. Water, sails and things of the sort. If you like that sort of stuff, the La Conner Yacht and Car Show or Classic Boats and Classic Cars might be for you. The Conner Yacht and Car Show is being held in the La Conner Marina, La Conner, Washington August 13th. There will be plenty of custom and antique boats, also in-water demonstrations, a food court, raffle prizes. The Classic Boats and Classic Cars show of Everett, Washington August 20th is another great show if you are a boat fan. With plenty of food, boats and ocean air, this show is a must for many. Not In To Anything Vehicle Related?
Some of you might be thinking, I don’t like classic cars, what makes you think I will like 4x4s or boats any better. If that is your case you might be surprised how many none car related things go one at these shows. The majority of the shows have plenty of free live entertainment, so if you are music fan there is something for you. You will also find that food is usually not a rarity at these shows, carnival style food, hamburgers and hotdogs abound. Who doesn’t like that type of stuff? Other times you will find that these car shows happen at the same time as various local events, many times with local fairs. The point being, that even though you are not there for the cars, there very likely to be something that is worth going for and best of all it is usually free.
Before you say, ‘If you have seen one you have seen them all,’ find out what other free entertainment you are missing out on.
